AOS FC played their first game on a cold Monday night in Sheffield. The line-up, missing striker Archie Dickens, saw the side start their campaign 6 points adrift of the leaders, due to joining the league late. Playing the leaders, who were full of tricky and fast players, AOS FC played excellent football from the go. Striker Lee Bell holding the ball, with Ryan, Danny, and Nick playing quick passing moves, which the likes of Barcelona would be proud of.
Luke Barraclough was back to himself in goal, providing quick reactions from deflected and one on one-shots. After securing a 3-goal cushion, Luke was finally beaten. However, this only seemed to increase the tempo from AOS, with many spectators gathering to watch the skill, dribbling, and finishing on show.
Ryan Hall was dictating play, passing and moving with Nick Bell throughout, who was excellent on his debut on loan from Durham University for the busy Christmas period. Lee found his scoring boots, with Danny Bell proving admirable in both defense and attack. A share of the goals between the three Bell’s saw AOS run away with the game, ending in a comprehensive 7-1 win.
A great start for the newly formed team, who will be hoping to carry on where they left off next Monday night.
